Well, during these days, I am addicted to that drama since I knew their theme song "Set The Fire To The Third Bar".
As usual, I looked for the original book. It took around one month to get it. But it's worth. The book is, to be expressed, amazing. I like the way the author puts the words. :)
I didn't watched the movie, first. So, it was really a disappointment for me when I watched the movie after reading book. They not only skipped many things, but also changed some of story lines!! The guy called "Tim" was the father of Alan in the movie, but was the brother of Alan in the book.. >.< .. That's why I prefer reading books than movie..
Some sentences in the book are really, in my opinion, great: a must-have knowledge for couples. ^_^ And I want to share it. :)
This is what John(the main actor) thought when he felt some change in their relationship...
"Love and caring weren't always enough. They were the concrete bricks of our relationship; but unstable without the mortar of time spent together, time without the threat of imminent separation of hanging over us.
The ending of the movie is a bit weird if you read the book first :). It's like a meal without salt because they left the thoughts that the author wants his readers to know. They met second time again and hugged each other at the end of the movie. But in the book, John met Savannah only one time after her marriage. And he tried not to meet her again, even though he was at the mountain near her house. He just watched her from away ( a kinda soft and innocent love ^_^) because he felt he would destroy her family relationship if he did so.
Here it is, the part when John said final good-bye after he met Savannah and her husband,Tim.
"Can I write to you?" Savannah said.
I forced myself not to look away, wishing again that the cards had fallen differently for us.
"I'm not sure that's a good idea."
"I don't understand."
"Yes, you do," I said. "You're married to Tim, not me.." .. after some time,
"You're married to Tim, and your husband needs you. All of you. There is no room for me, and we both know there shouldn't be. "............
I really like this part, it shows human's responsibilities, moral thinking.. and it matches Buddha's sayings, too.
Well, this is just my opinions. :) Hope you enjoys my writing.
